RWANDA COURT GRANTS BAIL TO KAGAME CRITIC

High court in Rwanda has today granted bail to President Paul Kagame's critic, Diane Rwigara.

Diane challenged President Kagam in the August 2017 Presidential Elections and was later arrested a month later along with her mother for tax evasion, forgery and inciting insurrection.

She has been in jail for over a year now awaiting trail in the courts of law.

The judges have ruled that prosecution had failed to provide credible reason why Diane and mother should be in prison and ordered their immediate release on bail.

Under the conditions of bail granted, Diane and mother do not have to travel out of the capital kigali and that their travel documents should be handed over to authorities.
